Film Director and cartoonist Aldo Iuliano was born in Crotone (Italy). He graduated with a degree in Communication with a thesis discussing the points of contact between the language of film and comics, supervised by Italo Moscati. After his studies, Aldo explored the experimental language of cinema with his brother, screenwriter Severino. Together they produced 15 award-winning short films, screened at national and international film festivals. On his last short film, “Penalty” (Eligible for the 2018 Oscars and officially selected by four Academy Awards qualifying festivals; an Italian Golden Globe 2017 award winner, an SIAE award winner [Young Independent Authors section] at Venice Film Festival 2017, and a Silver Ribbon Awards 2017 finalist) Aldo has worked with the famous Italian Director of Photography Daniele Ciprì and Donatello award-winning film editor Marco Spoletini. As an independent filmmaker, Aldo has also been involved in teaching courses on directing at the Romeur Film Academy as well as workshops on storytelling for university students. This year, he is finishing the post-production of his first feature film: "Space Monkeys" (produced by Freak Factory/Raicinema).
